❚❚❚❚❚ Physical Fitness Evaluation #1
Cadets are expected to either match or come marginally close to these target goals. Those that do not will receive additional assistance (read: a lot more homework) until they are sufficiently caught up. Because this is their very first exam before coursework is begun, there is no automatic failure for falling short of the mark.

You will, however, likely be called a failure by Officer Sun.

❚❚❚❚❚ Physical Fitness Evaluation #2

This is the first real evaluation where marks determine progression or course repetition. There is a 10% margin of error in place for cadets (180/180/180/22min), with exceptions made for species that cannot physically perform specific exercises (speak to either Cdr Shepard or Ofc Aeryn Sun to receive a species-specific alternative calibrated to your cadet's ideal physical state at this point in time).

Failing to meet the target or its 10% buffer is an automatic course repeat.

❚❚❚❚❚ Physical Fitness Evaluation #3

The learning curve is steeper this time around: cadets will be tasked with one additional set of exercises (again, if your species needs something tailored to their physical limitations, ask and ye shall receive) and will be forced to deal with one half-pack's worth of equipment while performing the running portion of this exam. Cadets that are too young to have developed enough muscle mass will be granted a 25% buffer (225/225/225/180/27min), but will still be expected to shoulder their equipment. All other cadets will be granted the same 10% buffer as before.

Failing to meet the target or either of the applicable buffers is an automatic course repeat.

❚❚❚❚❚ Physical Fitness Evaluation #4
The end point of three full course sessions, this is the hardest physical evaluation trainees will be expected to complete. They may request a rest period between the exercise portion and the running portion to combat fatigue (just remember to warm up before you come back to complete the second portion of your test...), species that cannot perform certain tasks can still request alternatives, children will receive a 35% buffer (325/325/325/260/14min) and adults will be granted 20% (400/400/400/380/12min).

As before, failing to meet these target scores or either of the applicable buffers means repeating the course. Passing, however, does not indicate PKN7 completion. For that, there's still one last evaluation...

SUMMARY OF PERFORMANCE: Grats, Aeryn, your roommate's not entirely useless! ...just kind of.

He'll at least meet or be close to most goals-- Ryan's not going to beat the goal time for running by too much, opting to pace himself more so he knows he can actually finish it, and he's not quite making it past 75 or so situps either. Pushups, though, those are absolutely his weak point here. He's not even going to manage half of that, more like 30 before he has to give up.

SUMMARY OF PERFORMANCE: Fortunately (sorta), Pilot started doing some running a week or two beforehand, plus he's been doing work on Ajna, so he passes the running portion without too much trouble - comes in at two miles in about 20 minutes. Pushups are not his strong suit, however. He gets about halfway through the assigned set before his arms give out. Sit-ups he's better at, and he actually manages to get through most of those. He still falls short of the mark.

SUMMARY OF PERFORMANCE: Aya isn't exactly the strongest person in the world - heck, she's a sheltered 16-year old who just happens to have weird bandage powers - but she did her best in the evaluation! Which isn't anything to blow you out of the water (she kind of fell a little short of all goals), but she did pace herself well. She doesn't have much upper body strength and was better at situps than pushups (which she just gave up in halfway -she would have used her bandages if she felt that wasn't cheating), and her lunges were rather mediocre. The best was the running, but even then she only finished just under 30 minutes. SHE STILL HAS A LONG WAY TO GO.

SUMMARY OF PERFORMANCE: Having done a similar routine for most of his teenaged life, this is okay! He'll slow down around ~65 pushups, but manage to finish in a decent time. Conversely, the situps and lunges aren't any issue, and he'll speed through the run in just under nine minutes (and might semi-jokingly ask if Ms. Aeryn would keep going with him).

SUMMARY OF PERFORMANCE: He actually did the training regime like a good boy and deserves a pass on that alone-- I mean. He managed the running just fine, coming in under the allotted time since he's used to running for his life and managed the lunges, but had a little difficult with, oddly enough, the sit ups. He managed about 50 before he could do no more. Push-ups he did manage to hit the number, but he sure did lay on the floor after that. How UNDIGNIFIED.

SUMMARY OF PERFORMANCE: Jasper has only done the recommended workout three times. He would've liked to start sooner but sustaining a concussion during evacuation made it difficult. Also it's hard to make workout friends when you're denied a list of their names. But by the time the test rolls around he seems fully recovered and then some. He's never done these kind of organized exercises and his form needs a lot of correction, but he flies through them in a way that takes him by surprise. He focuses hard, looses count, doesn't pace himself and needs to be told to stop. His lifestyle prior to being recruited was active, but he's never had need to apply his physical strength in this particular way. His two mile clocks in at 13 minutes, but that's thanks to his elven blood.
PASS/FAIL: He'd love to rub a pass in Aeryn's face but he's just sort of quietly stunned. Stares at hands.

SUMMARY OF PERFORMANCE: SHEPARD IS HIS ROOMMATE. 8(((

He couldn't slack off much for his warm-ups, so Ferdinand actually manages to run the 2 miles within the 30 minute allotment. The rest though is still somewhat of a struggle for him. He only manages about 30 full pushups before he's forced to do the rest as lower-impact, knees touching the floor versions before struggling through the sit-ups as well. He's one of the last to finish those. The lunges he's surprisingly better at, though by the time it's all over he's lying on the floor with the rest of the losers.
PASS/FAIL: Let's be real, even Steve Rogers pre-super soldier could probably kick his ass.

SUMMARY OF PERFORMANCE: Considering Ryan was her workout buddy, you'd think she'd have done worse!

Michelle has actually been working very hard on the homework given and has been doing more training with Master Chief, so she's got this... mostly in the bag. She finishes the run within just under twenty five minutes, and slowly but surely makes her way through the rest of the exercises. In the end, the whole thing should take her about forty five minutes to complete.

SUMMARY OF PERFORMANCE:

Due to his small size and general appearance, Shinji can probably feel the stare of judging, watchful eyes wondering why a kid like him is on Green. He's pretty decent at running away and manages to finish within 30 min. He also manages to complete the 90 situps and lunges (although he's definitely not the fastest to do so) but around the 10 mark for pushups finds his arms giving out and himself falling flat on his face quite literally. To his credit though he does, after taking a small break try to finish the rest of the set.

PASS/FAIL: At least he showed up and didn't run away...that counts for something, right?

He'll clear the run with time to spare, and will himself through every move. Pushups, situps, lunges, repeat. The hitman could battle for hours, all night, so training could do little harm in compare.
PASS/FAIL: The determination to pass borders on frightening.

She's recovering but still malnourished and her muscle strength is pathetic compared to her prime so she won't be able to clear more than 50% of the pushups/pullups, and no more than 75% of the situps. She'll almost make the miles time, but still fall short.

SUMMARY OF PERFORMANCE:

Not too bad at all. He may look a bit on the malnourished side, but it proves to be no hindrance at all. The basic exercises are performed slowly and methodically, in perfect form from start to finish -- by the end, he hasn't even broken a sweat. Running is no problem at all either, and he's even good enough to avoid cheating with chakra (it seems to defeat the point, doesn't it?). He takes the whole thing at a full sprint, ninja-style, coming in well under the deadline and maybe even looking a little surprised with himself at the end. Thanks, Obama CDC, for giving him a body that isn't wrecked by Mysterious Terminal Lung Disease.

SUMMARY OF PERFORMANCE: It takes him a little more effort (read, a lot) than he expected, but manages to meet the targets! He comes in just under 30 minutes for the run, and it's obvious he struggles through the last 30 or so of the push ups, but he doesn't give up because there's no way he's going to be a failure so quickly okay.
PASS/FAIL: All things considered he did pretty well ??

Whoever decided it was best to leave combat training off of Mineva's training ought to be poked sternly. Lookin' at you, Haman.

Honestly, Mineva made it through maybe a third of all those sit ups, push ups and lunges. Maybe less of the push ups because, y'know, arm strength would be nice? They won't hear a word of complaint about any of it out of her mouth and likely very polite apologies when she falls short. She tries though, oh how she tries.

She does quite a bit better on the running though. She'll make it the full two miles somewhat around the mark, though very likely a good minute over. She's run away from a lot of things in her life. :|b
